Sea to Sky Online Students and Families,

If you are considering working on your courses over the summer, please note the following:

During July and August, staffing is limited to 6 days only, spread throughout July and August. Staff will not be available outside of those assigned hours; therefore, students should not expect responses to emails, grading assignments, or exam bookings on non-working days.

Staff will be working to help students who are planning to complete their courses first, then others who are continuing on with their courses, but are not planning on completing over the summer. As a result, students should plan accordingly and allow at least one week for responses and marking.

Staff Assignments and Summer Dates

Ms. Borsoff ([email protected]) will be overseeing English, Social Studies, PE, CLE/CLE, and electives on Mondays (July 13, 20, 27 & August 10, 17, 24).

Mr. Scutt ([email protected]) will be overseeing Accounting, Math, and Science on Tuesdays in July (14, 21, 28) and Wednesdays in August (12, 19, 26).

Summer Course Support (July–August)

During July and August, teachers will be working one designated day per week on selected weeks, including:

  • Marking and providing feedback
  • Responding to student and family emails.
  • Coordinating and invigilating final exams for applicable courses.
  • Offering limited, 2-hour exam invigilation bookings for each teacher each week working.

 Priorities

Because our summer work time is limited, priority will be given to:

  1. Grade 12 students working toward graduation requirements.
  2. Students intending to complete their courses during the summer months.
  3. Time-sensitive exam requests and course completion needs.

Students working ahead for future completion dates may experience longer response and marking times.

Response and Marking Timelines

  • Emails will be reviewed and responded to on my scheduled workday, in order of receipt.
  • Assignments submitted after my weekly workday will generally be reviewed in the following weeks.
  • Marking turnaround times may be longer than during the regular school year due to limited summer staffing and work hours

Exam Scheduling

Three exam invigilation times will be available each week, per teacher. Students should book as early as possible, as spaces will be limited.

https://calendly.com/ascutt-sd48/presentations-or-exams (Mr. Scutt – Tuesdays (July) Wednesdays (August))

We appreciate everyone's understanding as we balance supporting students while working within the assigned summer schedule.

Planning ahead and allowing sufficient time for marking, feedback, and exam scheduling will help ensure a smooth course completion process.

As a reminder, registration will re-open on August 31 when Elise returns ([email protected]).

Sincerely,

Sea to Sky Online Team
